Worst Possible In 2012 Is Playstation Disruption

You just keep believing that. It's why those stories are being put out now.

Three years ago, not a mention that anything might happen at the next solar maximum. Not a word. Anything suggesting same was crazy talk by conspiracy nuts and paranoid lunatics.

Now it is saturation of the media with this story about a possible electrical outage. The same theme played in all outlets like they were reading from a script.

Yes, that's the worst thing that could happen from a large solar X-Class flare hitting the unstable magnetic field and causing a reversal or exodus of our magnetic shield, the only thing standing between us and deadly, horrific surface boiling cosmic radiation.

So stock up on batteries and candy bars, regular service will commence shortly thereafter. Nothing to see here, people, please keep moving along. We need you to keep working at those day jobs and paying those tax revenues so we can finish our own shelters off.

"Does this mean the TV schedule might be interrupted? I guess I'll just watch a DVD instead...right?"

This is how people will think. Just wait and see. They'll even call you and others "conspiracy nuts" or "chicken little" and pretend that an absolutely certain part of the solar cycle will somehow not dare to happen on their watch! Despite it happening only a blink of an eye ago as far as the world or universe is concerned. Even in a best case scenario where only EMP burst destroying the electrical grid and electric machines is the problem they'll be banging rocks together hoping for fire and eating babies within two weeks. In many ways it would be worse than a nuke or bio weapon attack. At least with those most people will be dead from the attack and not their neighbour smashing their heads in for meat.

I know people who would probably be found dead in a corner if you took their cell phones away. Paralyzed and confused minds to the end. What chance do such useless people have when they are disconnected from reality?

This is what gets me.

People raised on television believe the authorities also have quality control and stability mechanisms in place on our Sun which dovetail with human needs and expectations.

The entire era of dependendcy on EMP vulnerable electronics has only emerged in the past decade and events like this are extraordinarily common in the history of the planet, they are as normal as sunshine and rainfall.

Yet people insist that the Sun wouldn't do that to us and if it does, we will bring a class action suit against it with the ACLU for disruption in conventional output. Not long after that cappucino service will resume and the universe will continue to conform to transient human expectations of how it should behave and conduct itself. They really think we can outvote the Sun if we get the environmentalists on board and reach a common agreement.

Modern people have been driven insane by watching television and are now so far from reality that they collectively should be institutionalized, if it were not for the fact there would not be many people left to run the institution after doing so.
