It didn't seem possible that any man who knew anything of the historical record of the past 5000 years could possibly think this book was anything but gibberish. The ironic subtitle implies that the author had read THUS SPAKE ZARATHRUSTRA and possibly he did - unfortunately he understood it not at all. Nietzsche's "last man" is a fool who will repeat all the mistakes of the past without exception.

Fukiyama was just the last gear on a wheel that always comes around again. As long as Homo Sapiens exists, you will never see an end to war. It defines him. Without it he barely has any substance at all. As Nietzsche said, this rude camp would otherwise have no dignity at all if the martial virtues were not become necessity with them once again.

The Reason We Are Doing The Permaculture Lab First For CD-OS

It's the most important component. More important than even security and communications modules.

If we have the permaculture in a closet debugged and included as a module in the first release on Github of CD-OS, our software is going to be the bomb in the survivalist/prepper community.

Still nervous about eating the fish. They are worth their weight just for the nitrates they produce for the plants. I am still deliberating - do I want goldfish in the internal tank sheerly for their value as fertilizers or do I want silver perch? Tilapia are illegal in Australia (of course.) They are the perfect fish for aquaculture ... because they are ugly bastards with faces nobody could anthropomorphize. If I raise the silver perch I think I am likely to get too attached to them. If I raise the goldfish with no intention of eating them, I think I'd feel a lot better during the conclusion of the test duration. Goldfish live for many years and would be worth their minimal feed just to produce the nutrient solution for the plants. I could always take the goldfish back to the pet store if I feel they are getting too big for the tank.

This is also the test case I am using to debug the Lua scripted modbus service, which afterwards will be fit to control anything else you want to attach to CD-OS and monitor in an HMI SCADA setting. I am taking pains to even make the manifest editors and tools very flexible and easy to set up.

Maybe worth writing a Lua scripted service for generic interfaces to these kinds of devices.

The first hardware service for CD-OS will be Lua to Modbus service. (I stopped calling them "daemons" in the latest version)

The second hardware service will likely be Lua to I2C ... followed by samples for parallel ports, serial ports, RS-485 and even joystick and audio jacks. (Helps a lot in measuring things like clicks from a geiger counter of any model)

Biggest problem I could see with these boards is they are not redundant unless you buy multiples of them and even then you don't have the ultimate option of stripping parts off abandoned cars. CD-OS will be complete when anything in it can be replaced by ubiquitous salvage operations. The parallel port really was the ultimate apocalyptic interfacing port for a computer. I could write fifty paragraphs about what you could do with simple wiring of a parallel port in different configurations. You could build a covox speech synthesizer with a dozen resistors for the parallel port and I have done just that in a single day's work. You could interface to a CCD camera with a handful of parts. I mean, anything can be interfaced to a parallel port and even optically isolated. It's really a shame they don't include them by default on computers any longer.

If anyone who visits Vault-Co has a chance to experiment with this I'd be really interested in hearing feedback from others on it. (USB RS-485) I have ordered one but probably won't have a look at it until after I get the universal modbus service released in open source for CD-OS. (Before December! Itz coming this time!)
