Anon 4:52, that news only shows that the Brits were practical and efficient right from the start.
Very soon the Brits, as well as the rest of the unprepared mass of humanity, will be practicing the same kind of culinary efficiency as the world dissolves into blood and chaos. And then after that things will get really bad.

Well, the mini-ice-age was over fast -- it hit the 70's this week in the midwest.
I'm hopeful that the other craziness will pass just as quickly. Maybe if I call in sick for a couple of days it will all be over. That's my survivalist plan, at least!
