Although laid off now, I still keep in touch with some of my co-workers. They are still completely clueless. I gave up years ago talking sense to anyone about what's coming down the pike. When I listen to these poor bastards whine about how everything's messed up and the gov't should just FIX IT, I just smile sympathetically and shrug my shoulders. We are so screwed, and there is nothing that can be done about it. This is going to be true Wagnerian tragedy, with a glaring exception. In his Operas the ones who suffer and die are heroes, not self-indulgant sheep.
