It's still generally been warmer than it has been cooler. Also too in the US when it's cold in the east, it's often warm in the west, and vice versa. Perhaps you should focus on what is actually going on right now rather than anecdotal evidence, other than record lows (as records in most places have only been kept since the late 19th century)?
