I saw this film last night. I didn't know what I was watching for the first 90 minutes.
One of the most beautiful movies I have seen in a long, long time. A very Christian theme and an incredible ending. Moves very slowly to an awesome climax when all becomes clear.
Some nudity and drug use but not graphic. I'm no fan of Mickey Rourke but he was cast perfectly for this role. This movie got terrible reviews and it is obvious why - it is unbelievably good. Hollywood hates movies that are uplifting at the end.

Thank you for mentioning a film without completely revealing the ending like with Every Which Way But Loose, The Others, and several other titles. I can actually watch this one now ;)
thanks
Thanks for the recommendation. From the trailer you could tell that the director is a fan of Wim Wenders. Watch the Land of Plenty. It's the best movie for post 9/11 America with a truly Christian message. Critics hated that too, of course.
Yer right tex it was good.
Loved it. Hollywood doesnt like movies that treat every mans life with dignity. If there was a heaven theyd make it for rich jews only and would never accept that God might love everyone who comes to him with repentance in their heart.
Tex, you'd probably like much
Master and Commander (2003)
and watch the lessons, scene-by-scene.
