Pretty outrageous stuff on the opinion page in the Guardian. I think it is fair to say that this is the first mainstream source to say what "the fringe" have been saying for ten years ... the 'Kwan empire is doomed.

Remember we were here first and then take this in stride : no way is this story going to conclude peacefully. It's completion will be with the start of the worst worldwide war in mankind's history. Everybody now predicting a gentle fade into the twilight for the American empire has got it ass-backwards. The 'Kwa is going out with guns blazing and Cobalt-60 bombs drifting down on the continents like confetti. Mind you, that's just the first day of WWIII.
